The First Responder Golf Foundation is driving awareness of PTSD one golf swing at a time.
First Responder Golf Foundation
First Responder Golf Foundation grew from the Firefighter Golf (YouTube, Instagram, Facebook) social media blitz to bring awareness to PTSD in the first responder professions. Founder Steve Pope desired a way to share his story and reach as many first responders as he could through the power of social media. Steve’s story is real and so is PTSD in the first responder fields.
Why Golf? Founder Steve Pope loves the game of golf and uses it as a way to decompress, recalibrate and reinvigorate from the stresses of his firefighting profession. An appreciation for golf and a desire to help first responder peers ultimately led to the creation of the first responder golf foundation program, Peers and Rapport (PAR).
PAR is for all first responders to connect and build friendships while using golf as a way to establish rapport with their peers. The program features individual golf outings, indoor simulator events and golf lesson/clinics. There is NO COST to first responders to attend PAR events. Contact the foundation if you want to learn more or if you are a first responder and want to play golf.
